Climate Partnership of Russia

For many years, RUSAL has been an actively involved in climate conservation and the implementation of internationally recognized environmental standards; the Company is reducing its greenhouse gas emissions every year.

In November 2015, RUSAL, together with Rosnano, Sberbank, RusHydro and Ingosstrakh, launched an initiative to establish the Climate Partnership of Russia, which has already been joined by 27 Russian and foreign companies and organisations. The aim of this association is to encourage Russian companies to move towards more environmentally efficient production, as well as to promote competitive conditions and economic incentives for implementing environmental technologies and switching to a low-carbon 'green' economy.

The Climate Partnership of Russia is recognized on the international arena: its representatives regularly take part in the UN Conferences on climate change, and the association itself influences Russia’s climate agenda as the only association of companies on this issue.

As part of its activities, the Partnership has also established an active cooperation with the Russian Association of Managers, representatives of ICC Russia, diplomatic missions of European countries, and a number of other organisations.

An important activity of the Climate Partnership of Russia is to raise awareness of climate issues in Russian society. As part of this activity, the Partnership regularly organises issue-related events involving world-class experts which receives widespread media coverage.
