Social investment

The Company finances projects aimed at strengthening social structure and developing urban infrastructure, supporting socially vulnerable groups of people, developing sports and a healthy lifestyle, volunteering and social entrepreneurship, education and healthcare.

The social investment strategy is coordinated by the corporate Social Policy Committee, which defines the priorities and funding areas, prepares a budget for social programmes, determines a strategy for positioning the social projects based on RUSAL’s priorities and goals in each of the regions where it is present.

In Russia, the Company's social investments are carried out in the form of four social programmes:

  • 'RUSAL Territory' is a programme for the social and economic development of the territories of operation;
  • 'Helping is Easy' is a programme to support and develop corporate and city-wide volunteering;
  • 'Social Entrepreneurship' is a small business support and development programme;
  • 'School of Urban Change' is a programme to create and train initiative groups that want to improve urban space.
