As a result of the competition, Krasnoturyinsk, with a landscaping design for the banks of the Turya river, and Shelekhov, with a design for a new City Park, will receive additional financing from the federal budget in the amount of RUB 80 million and 70 million respectively.

Both projects were launched using the RUSAL Territory grant. The Company has already invested around RUB 50 million in each. In 2021, RUSAL financed and organised the preparation of the architectural concepts and applications to participate in the competition. One of the key criteria in selecting the winner was the preservation of all assets of natural, cultural and historical heritage. In addition, the competition commission considered the quality of architectural and layout solutions, relevance, and prospect of the projects.

The competition results were announced on August 26th at the V Russian Forum 'Environment for Life: City and Water' that was held in Nizhny Novgorod.
In total, the winners included 160 projects from 65 Russian regions. All of them will be financed from the federal budget.

“The success of the projects at the Russian National Competition has been possible due to the Company's partnership and continuous dialogue with local residents, municipal authorities, and experts in the field of urbanism. The projects will receive additional funding from the federal budget, with RUB 70 million allocated for the construction of the city park in Shelekhov and RUB 80 million assigned to complete the embankment in Krasnoturyinsk. We are confident that this is an important step in the development of small cities, and we are glad to be involved in such positive changes,” said Rustam Zakiev, Head of the Social Policy Department at RUSAL.
