Moscow, 12 September 2022 – RUSAL, a leading global aluminium producer, in cooperation with En+ Group and the Siberian Federal University (SFU) have launched an IT Academy in Krasnoyarsk. 108 first-year undergraduate and second-year IT students from SFU were selected to take part in the program.

The Academy provides opportunities to gain deeper knowledge in the field of modern IT technologies in demand in manufacturing companies. Students will also receive practical experience in the implementation of IT projects. Honors students will be able to start their career at one of RUSAL’s and En+ Group’s enterprises.

The educational program at the IT Academy will last 3 years. There is one general module and additionally students select one of the special modules: information security, web programming and software development, industrial automation and digitalization, network and server infrastructure, as well as ERP platforms, including the implementation and modification of corporate information systems. Throughout their studies, students will pass an internship at an existing production site, as well as get acquainted with RUSAL’s IT projects.

Graduates of the Academy will receive a state diploma on professional retraining and certificates of advanced training along with certificates from vendors.

“Nowadays IT-specialists are highly demanded in the labor market. As an engineering company that develops and implements its own technologies, we are interested in having more specialists among Russian students who know the features and priorities of the real production. Therefore, the training of highly qualified professionals, immersed in the specifics of our business, is very important for us. The new IT Academy is both an opportunity and a challenge for the students. In addition to potential employment, they will gain unique experience, solve interesting problems, and take part in ambitious projects,” said Natalia Albrecht, Deputy General Director for Human Resources.

“The modernization of engineering and technical education is a top priority for us. In this context, the launch of the IT Academy in collaboration with our good friends and reliable industrial partners RUSAL and En+ Group is a logical outcome of our work done in this area. It is a systemic project, its preparation took several years. Selected students have gone through a solid competition. They will take part in real IT projects of RUSAL, will be trained by guest experts in the information technology, and practice at the enterprises of the aluminium division. I am sure that they will succeed and the IT Academy educational program will become a perfect example of how a university and an enterprise can jointly train specialists who will be capable of applying digital technologies at all stages of production,” commented Maxim Rumyantsev, Head of the Siberian Federal University.

Students will receive scholarships throughout the whole educational program.
