Most of the plant's capacity is based on Soderberg technology, and the transition to Eco-Soderberg Technology is currently being completed.
At present about 94% of electrolysers have been converted to Eco-Soderberg technology. <br> <br> The plant has run the second stage of modernization, which includes converting the potrooms to the environmentally friendly technology "Eco-Soderberg" and improving the efficiency of the SEI calcining systems which are used in anode paste production. A complex environmental program in 2015 led to pollution reduction by 1.3%.<br> <br> Anode mass technology with a reduced content of PAH is being introduced to reduce benzopyrene emissions into the atmosphere.<br> <br> In 2019, works were performed to replace the electrostatic precipitator No. 14 to clean gases from refrigerators No. 1-4 of the hardening furnaces. Nowadays, commissioning works on ESP No. 14 are in progress. The first measurements have already shown more than 98% efficiency of its operation.<br> Inert anode technology is being tested in one of the Krasnoyarsk smelter’s sections.
