ALSCON

ALSCON, one of RUSAL’s African assets, includes an aluminium smelter, a gas-fired power station and a port on the Imo River, Nigeria.

RUSAL acquired a controlling stake in ALSCON in 2007. RUSAL owns 85% of ALSCON with the rest of the shares belonging to the government of Nigeria.

ALSCON was launched in 1997 and then ceased operations in 2000. Following the acquisition of the controlling stake in ALSCON, RUSAL modernized the facility.

At the moment the operations of the factory have been suspended.
