Youth means energy, fresh approach and a zest for knowledge, which are a perfect fit for
RUSAL. Young employees are the driving force behind the company’s growth and a foundation
of its successful and sustainable development. We endeavor to create an environment that would
encourage young members of our staff to grow personally and professionally, while contributing
to the company’s business, production and social goals.
As part of the programme to attract and maintain young talent, RUSAL assembles Youth
Committees – independent social entities that include the company’s employees aged 35 and
younger. The committees are responsible for helping young people who have just joined RUSAL
to integrate into the company and resolve any social issues they might have. The committees also
help to create a comfortable working environment that would spark creative and professional
development of young employees.
RUSAL’s major projects on youth outreach:
The ‘School of Success’ programme is aimed at helping RUSAL’s young employees to grow
professionally, improve communication skills and develop initiative. As part of the programme,
the young members of RUSAL’s team design projects to enhance production and improve social
performance. The best of these projects get funding from the company.
The projects are assessed and selected by an expert council, which includes RUSAL’s
top executives and members of the company’s Social Programme Centre. The School of
Success ‘graduates’ eventually join the youth committees and participate in developing and
arranging social campaigns.
‘A Formula for the Future’ is a forum for RUSAL’s young employees, who make the most
contribution to the life of the company and the work of the youth committees. The forum is also
attended by the graduates of the School of Success, whose projects were selected and approved
for implementation. The project facilitates the communication between young employees,
encouraging them to share experience and discuss new projects.
RUSAL seeks young, talented and challenge-driven minds. To give students and schoolchildren
an account of what’s it like to be a part of RUSAL, the company carries out open days at
the largest of its facilities, where the visitors can get to know about the company and the
opportunities for personal and professional growth, which it offers.
The company’s young employees are also eligible for joining rotational programmes, receiving
relevant training and participating in professional competitions.
