Rewards and benefits

RUSAL has always been strongly committed to promoting the wellbeing of its employees, providing them with social benefits and competitive rewards. Between 2011 and 2013, RUSAL plans to allocate some US$600 million to bettering the living conditions of its employees.

In 2011, the social package for RUSAL’s employees has been considerably enhanced compared to the recession period. The company has increased meals allowances, launched a housing programme, raised the sum of additional payments to retirees and veterans and restarted the temporarily suspended programmes of compulsory health insurance and corporate summer camp for the children of the company’s employees. In 2011 RUSAL also plans to start the construction of kindergartens for staff’s children.

RUSAL’s ongoing social support programmes:

Increasing average salary for the best workers

RUSAL places a strong focus on supporting and motivating employees, who work at the company’s production sites. One of RUSAL’s major HR projects is aimed at increasing the average monthly salary for the most highly skilled workers to 60,000 rubles.

Housing programme

RUSAL helps its employees, who work at the company’s facilities across Russia, to buy real property. An agreement between RUSAL and Russia’s Sberbank enables the company’s employees to receive mortgage loans at reduced rates. Following the property acquisition, RUSAL covers the down payment and a substantial part of the monthly payments. An employee is responsible for covering no more than 50% of the monthly payment – the rest is paid by RUSAL.

How the programme works:

Children’s summer camp

The children’s summer camp Solnechny-2 (‘Sunshiny’), located in a beautiful pine forest on the riverside in Minusinsk region near Krasnoyarsk, was restarted in the summer of 2011. The camp is open for the children of RUSAL’s employees. The travel and accommodation costs are covered by the company.
